The play

Brian Burton directs one of his own most popular musical melodramas.

The play is acted out by a band of strolling players who tell this story in witty words and songs in the best British Music Hall tradition. The audience is expected to boo the villain and commiserate with the unfortunate heroine.

Brian’s play is based on the old Victorian versions which have been performed thousands of times all over the world.
