The play
Ten intimate scenes map unique encounters between five men and five women, all played by the same two actors.
The characters are linked in a sexual daisy chain, one character from each scene going on to sleep with a new partner in the following scene. This overall shape of the piece deepens the frequent experiences of dissatisfaction, emotional confusion, and the longing for an experience of something more… or for a more real experience of love. Although sometimes shockingly explicit, the range of relationships depicted — from the extraordinary to the banal — is more visceral than the graphic depiction of sexual encounters.
